Summary. You can browse without an account. BeWagl uses location only after permission to sort nearby places. Account and contribution data are stored to provide your profile, saves, reviews and recommendations. Reservation or waitlist details are sent to the restaurant you choose. We do not sell personal data.

1. Who operates BeWagl

BeWagl operates the BeWagl restaurant discovery service, website and Android application in Jakarta, Indonesia. Questions, privacy requests and complaints can be sent through the BeWagl Safety Center or WhatsApp at +62 812-9523-9210.

2. Data we collect

Account information: name, email address, authentication records and optional profile information such as display name, avatar, language, taste preferences, gender or date of birth.
Location: precise or approximate device location only after permission. Coordinates are transmitted to BeWagl infrastructure to calculate distance and nearby ordering. A recent location may be stored on your device so the screen can load quickly.
Activity and preferences: saved places, visits, waitlists, reservations, ratings, reviews, Waggle Dance activity, reactions, reports and blocked accounts.
User content: profile text, recommendations, review text and photos you choose to upload.
Reservation and waitlist information: name, contact details, party size, date/time, and optional notes, gender or birthday requested by the selected restaurant.
Technical and usage information: random session identifier, page or feature events, language, app/platform type, diagnostic records, IP address and standard server security logs.
Support information: messages and attachments you voluntarily send to support. WhatsApp processes support conversations under its own terms.

3. Why we use data

Provide nearby search, personalized recommendations, saved places and account features.
Process reservations, waitlists, verified visits and reviews.
Moderate fraud, spam, harassment, unsafe content and restaurant information.
Secure accounts, prevent abuse, diagnose failures and measure service reliability.
Meet legal obligations and respond to valid rights requests.

4. Sharing and processors

We do not sell personal data. We use service providers including Supabase for authentication, database and storage, and Cloudflare for delivery, security and request processing. Information needed for a reservation or waitlist is shared with the restaurant you selected. Public profile details and approved contributions are visible to other users according to the feature. Data may be disclosed when legally required or necessary to protect users and the service.

5. Permissions and choices

Location is optional. If denied, BeWagl uses a default area and remains usable. Android photo/file selection uses the system picker without broad photo-library access. You may change device permissions in Android Settings. Optional profile answers can be edited or removed.

6. Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Operational reservation and waitlist records are retained only as needed for service, dispute handling, fraud prevention and applicable legal obligations. Security backups and logs expire under controlled retention schedules. If law requires limited retention after deletion, retained data is isolated and used only for that obligation.

7. Account and data deletion

You can delete an account in My information → Delete account or use the independent account deletion page. Deletion removes the authentication account and associated profile, saved places, reviews, reactions and other account-linked records. A sole Business owner must first transfer ownership or request assisted closure so customer and restaurant obligations are handled safely.

8. Security and international processing

Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Access is restricted through authentication, row-level database controls and least-privilege service access. Service providers may process data outside your country subject to appropriate safeguards. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

BeWagl is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request an under-13 child to create a public contributor profile. Contact us if you believe a child supplied personal data without valid authorization.

10. Your rights and changes

Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of personal data and may withdraw consent. Contact the Safety Center. We will post material policy changes here and update the effective date.
